CSS Religious School Goes Online
Beginning Monday, March 23, we are moving all our classes online!
This is a huge step for us, and we ask for your patience as we are all learning how to navigate online education. Our primary goal is to give our students time with their kehillah (community), the opportunity to "see" and connect with their Sha'are Shalom friends. We also hope to keep the learning going and especially for those in 3rd grade and above, keep their Hebrew skills up.
Classes will be on the Zoom platform and will be held just once per week. Because we can only host one "meeting" at a time and to make sure families have enough devices available for other uses (parents working at home, siblings doing homework), we are staggering the days and times from when we normally meet. Classes will be between 20 and 30 minutes in length, depending on the grade. Students in grades 3-6 will have 30 minutes of Hebrew and 30 minutes of Judaics. 7th graders will not have Hebrew instruction - those who are still preparing for b'nai mitzvah will continue to have their tutoring online. Here is the schedule for this week:
Monday, March 23 - 7th grade at 4:30, 6th grade Judaics at 5; 6th grade Hebrew at 5:30
Tuesday, March 24 - 3rd grade Judaics at 4; 4th grade Judaics at 5
Wednesday, March 25 - 3rd grade Hebrew at 4; 4th grade Hebrew at 5
Thursday, March 26 - 5th grade Hebrew and Judaics at 4 (1 hour)
Sunday, March 29 - Kindergarten at 9:30; 1st grade at 10; 2nd grade at 10:30
We plan to use the same schedule for the following week, but may make some changes based on how this week goes. The links to the class sessions will be sent to each grade separately.
Again, thank you in advance for your patience! If you have any questions or comments, please don't hesitate to contact me.
