Apples and Ice Cream
Sunday, August 29
It wouldn't be Rosh Hashanah without apples! And it wouldn't be summer without ice cream!
Join your Sha'are Shalom friends as we indulge in a last taste of summer, even as we prepare for Rosh Hashanah!
We'll start at Kingbury's Orchard in Dickerson, MD (about 45 minutes from Sha'are Shalom) for apple picking. On the way back towards Leesburg, we'll stop at Rocky Point Creamery for some ice cream refreshments after our hard work at the orchard.
Thanks to some generous donations, participants will all be gifted a voucher
for a free cup or cone at the creamery!
The orchard is open from 9:00 - 5:00, and the creamery from 11:30 - 8:30.
We'll meet at the orchard starting at 11:00 and folks can pick at their leisure, then grab their
ice cream vouchers and head to the creamery at their convenience.
We'll make sure to have someone at the orchard or creamery until 2:00
to make sure everyone gets their ice cream voucher.
The orchard should have apples, peaches, and pears available for picking!
In addition to picking apples for our Rosh Hashanah celebrations, we will be making
a donation of freshly picked fruit to Loudoun Hunger Relief.
Everyone is welcome to pick a little extra and add it to the donation!
If you would like to carpool, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
and we'll help make arrangements!
Please RSVP below with the total number of people in your party so we have
an accurate headcount for ice cream!
