Thank you to all who helped support the second annual Loudoun Interfaith Bridges and Faith Leaders Thanksgiving Day of Service.
Family Giving Day
Congregation Sha'are Shalom, represented by Laurie Mangold, participated in Brambleton Presbyterian Church's annual Family Giving Day this past Sunday. The participants assembled 2000 hygiene kits to be delivered to families affected by Hurricane Ian in Puerto Rico, and 1000 hygiene kits for Mobile Hope, a local organization that supports the needs of homeless and at-risk youth. Prayers of peace were offered in multiple languages by community leaders from Hindu, Muslim, Jewish, and Christian faiths (left to right in the photo: Deepak Gupta, Khaula Rafique, Laurie Mangold, and Pastor Elizabeth Brookens-Sturman). We thank congregant Leslie Thurman, in coordination with Shelly's Fund for a Beautiful Tomorrow, for introducing us to this caring community.
