At Congregation Sha'are Shalom and in our extended community we offer events to enrich our connection to Judaism. Whether centered around a holiday or around an opportunity to learn, events are fun and ultimately add meaning to our lives as Jewish people.

On September 4th CSS hosted the
Loudoun League of Women Voters
Loudoun County School Board Forum
Most of the candidates attended, answering questions submitted ahead of time. The forum was moderated by WTOP reporter and CSS's own Neal Augenstein.

Congregation Sha'are Shalom invites all members and prospective members to join us for a fun-filled day of apple picking!
Rosh Hashanah is just around the corner and this is a great opportunity to stock up on apples for the New Year!

There is no fee to attend this event. You only pay for what you pick! Credit cards are accepted.
Our group will meet at the Market Counter.
We have picnic tables reserved, feel free to bring lunch or snacks.
The farm does permit people to bring their own food. There is also an onsite restaurant. Please be sure to wear appropriate clothes and shoes and to bring plenty of buckets, bags, or wagons. There is a playground to enjoy as well!

Last year we donated over 600 pounds of food to Loudoun Hunger Relief!
Let’s see if we can top that for this year’s High Holiday Food Drive.

Help CSS Sisterhood fulfill our obligation to sponsor two families for the Loudoun Abused Women's Shelter (LAWS) this holiday season!
There are still several items remaining on our gift lists. Please help to make someone's holiday season happier if you can!

Night Out at AR Workshop

Join your CSS friends for a fun and artsy night out at AR Workshop in the Village at Leesburg! Everyone is welcome to join the fun!
Some snacks will be provided, but if you'd also like to bring a snack to share, please do.
AR Workshop will provide anyone who’d like one glass of wine during the event.

Help children in Israel have a happy Purim!
Donate your old costumes to Israeli children
in need and help them celebrate with joy!
A donation bin is located in the lobby of CSS.
The costumes will be donated to "A Home for
every child" (Bayit L'kol Yeled) NGO in Israel.
A Home for Every Child (BiLY) was founded in 1975 as a partner to Israel’s government authorities responsible for the well-being of children and youth. Each year, BiLY provides emergency care and treatment to prevent and respond to neglect and abuse for some 1,700 individuals and families in crisis, at emergency facilities, childcare centers, and family homes.
