Good Deeds Day 2019
On Sunday, April 2, Congregation Sha'are Shalom joined the Washington, DC community and communities in Israel and all over the world participating in Good Deeds Day. This is Sha'are Shalom's fifth year participating in this global event.
What We Did
Decorated and filled Blessing Bags with a variety of toiletries for Mobile Hope
Made Sock Animals for the Loudoun County Sheriff's office
Cleaned up the WO&D trail in downtown Leesburg
Wrote military letters to A Million Thanks
Created picture frames for the residents of Heritage Hall nursing and rehabilitation center.
Created 'Bumble Bands' of seeds to be planted at home
Held demonstration on CPR, Krav Maga and Zumba.
Signed up to do more good deeds all year long!
Fun was had by all including a delicious lunch. Thanks to all of the volunteers and participants who came out to 'do good'!
Good Deeds Day
Join us on Sunday, April 7th for a host of activities where you can give back to the community while having fun!
Breakfast is available starting at 8:30am and activities run from 9am through 1pm. Come for some or all of the day!

Registration is not required, but will help us plan.
Volunteers are needed for a variety of tasks including serving as greeters, manning the registration table, handing out T-shirts, running the activities and helping set up and clean up.

Help offset the cost of lunch and activity materials by making a donation to the Social Action Committee fund. Donate through the Sha'are Shalom web site, by scrolling down to and clicking on the Donate button. Be sure to note that the donation is for Good Deeds Day. You can also send a check to the synagogue and mark "Good Deeds Day" in the memo line.

Gaga-thon to benefit Direct Relief
Singing at Heritage Hall
Book mark making for the Veterans Center in Leesburg
Writing letters and making cards to our troops
Creating activity books for pediatric patients
Collecting Travel Sized Toiletries for Good Deeds Day
Collection of toiletries for Good Deeds Day is underway!
Travel size shampoo, conditioner, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, etc. are all needed to help make blessing bags for those in need.
Collection bins are located in the upstairs and downstairs lobby.
