Getting Into the Purim Spirit

Sunday, February 26, at 1:00pm via Zoom

Rabbi David Arias from Kehilat Moriah joins Rabbi Tow for a pre-Purim event!

We will study portions of the Megillah to examine where God can be found in the Purim Story and what Mordechai and Esther can teach us about living in exile. We'll also compare notes on how we celebrate Purim in Israel compared to Virginia.

We are starting a new partnership with Kehilat Moriah, the oldest congregation in the Masorti Movement in Israel. It was established in 1954 and moved to its permanent residence in the center of the Ahuza neighborhood in Haifa in 1962, where it still resides.

Rabbi David Arias, originally from Santiago, Chile, made Aliyah in 2014. From a young age and for many years, he has been an active member of the Masorti Movement in different communities in Israel and South America. Rabbi Arias was the founder and the first Mazkir of NOAM AmLat in 2011. Rabbi Arias has a bachelor’s degree in Music, an MA in Jewish Studies, and received his “Smicha” (Rabbinical Ordination) from the Schechter Rabbinical School.
